Starting today, there’s transfer.studio: file transfer and file requests for agencies, studios and productions. Your clients download your work and send you their files, all on your own domain, with your logo and your colours. They see nothing of us.
If you work for clients, you send files every day: campaigns for approval, masters to the broadcaster, plan sets to the developer, photo series to the editors. With most services, that moment happens under someone else’s name, at someone else’s address and sometimes next to someone else’s ads. Yet the handover is part of your work. transfer.studio makes it yours.
Your brand, end to end
Every workspace gets its brand, on every plan:
- Your domain: links run through files.yourwebsite.com instead of our address. You add the DNS records we show you, we take care of the certificate. How it works is explained in Set up your own domain.
- Your design: logo, accent colour, background image, fonts, corners and a footer with your imprint. The download page feels like part of your website.
- Your language: the page and the email to your recipients appear in the language you send in, German or English.
Your clients see your name, not ours.
Send and request files
Send by email or as a link. Each file can be up to 100 GB. Uploads go straight to storage, and if the connection drops or you close the tab, they pick up where they left off.
Images, videos, PDFs and audio open right in the browser, so your clients see what they get before they download 20 GB. For every transfer, you see how often it was viewed and downloaded, decide how long the link works, extend or delete it, and add a password if you like.
And it works the other way round: with a file request, you send your clients a link to a page in your brand. They upload their files there without an account, and you get an email when they arrive. More in Request files.
Apps for Mac, iPhone and Android
Files rarely live in a browser. That’s why transfer.studio also comes as an app, included in every plan:
- Mac: the app lives in the menu bar. Drop files on its icon or send them from the Finder, and the link lands on your clipboard. See the app for the Mac.
- iPhone: send photos, videos and files from any app’s share sheet. Uploads carry on in the background, and the link goes straight to Messages or Mail. See the app for the iPhone.
- Android: send from any app’s share menu, with the progress in a notification and uploads that wait for Wi-Fi if you like. See the app for Android.
Files in Switzerland, no tracking
Your files are stored encrypted with Exoscale in Swiss data centres. The app itself runs in the EU, in Frankfurt. When a transfer expires, we delete its files and previews automatically.
Your download and upload pages have no analytics tools, no third-party cookies and no profiles. Neither do our own pages. There’s deliberately no end-to-end encryption: files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and that is what lets your clients preview them in the browser. For the whole team
You invite your team by email. Admins manage the brand and domain, everyone else just sends. On the Production plan, everyone signs in with their company account, through single sign-on with Entra, Google Workspace, Okta and others.
Anyone who wants to can connect their own AI agent, such as Claude or ChatGPT. It finds transfers, tells you who downloaded what and prepares new ones. It never sees the files themselves, and nothing goes out by email until you send it. More in Connect an AI agent.
Plans and trial
transfer.studio comes in three plans, all with your own domain, your own design and the apps:
- Solo: CHF 49 a month, for up to 3 people and 300 GB a month.
- Agency: CHF 149 a month, for up to 10 people and 1 TB a month.
- Production: CHF 449 a month, for up to 25 people and 3 TB a month, with single sign-on.
Paid yearly, a year costs ten months. All prices exclude VAT. You try any plan free for 14 days: you add your card, and if you cancel before then, you pay nothing. All the details are on the pricing page.
